GREAT HILL ESTATES ASSOCIATION 2023 KAYAK & CANOE GUIDELINES
PLEASE NOTE: THE AVAILABILITY OF THE ASSOCIATION BEACH AND BOAT RAMP WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE DIRECTIVES OF BOTH STATE AND LOCAL OFFICIALS. THE ASSOCIATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO RESTRICT OR PROHIBIT ACCESS TO THE BEACH IF SO DIRECTED BY GOVERNMENT DIRECTIVES. In an effort to prevent erosion and to provide a safe and open area for all residents, we ask you to observe the following guidelines:
1. Only GHEA members are eligible to store boats at this location or the picnic/swimming area at the end of the Lake Shore Lane. 2. Boats require a current 2023 GHEA Boat Permit. Contact David Smith @ 508-737-2858 for membership to GHEA or for boat permits. 3. For 2023 each boat rack will have a number associated with the space. You will be assigned a designated location for your boat based on the total mix of boats that are registered. 4. Boats are allowed on the racks from May 1 to Thanksgiving weekend. This is not a permanent storage space for your kayak or canoe, all boats are required to be taken to your home on or before November 26, 2023. 5. All boats must be stored on a rack. Under no circumstances may boats be left on the ground, secured to a tree or left at the water's edge over night. This is a cause for the Associations removal of your boat. 6. GHEA is not liable for theft of, or damage to, any boats stored on an Association rack. We strongly encourage all members to adequately lock their boats to racks when not in use, and secure them in advance of any predicted inclement weather. 7. We have limited rack space for SUP's, and only those with a valid 2023 sticker will be allowed to be on a rack. SUP's without a sticker may NOT be left on a rack or at the beach and will be removed.
